FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your return policy?

Regardless of whether a gown is purchased new or as a sample with Ladies of Lineage, all sales are final and a gown cannot be returned or exchanged for additional items.

How do I know what size I fit into?

Unlike your traditional sample sale, a trained consultant will be availeble to help you choose designs based on your unique personality, style and price range. She will help pull designs she knows only require minimal alterations. Alterations are always necessary and are a separate expense. Typically every dress needs at least a hem and a bustle. When in doubt, ask. We are here to help you.

What is the difference between street size and sample size?

Sample size is the size the designer includes on the dress label. This sizing varies greatly among designers as designers have their own size charts used to construct each dress. Street size is the size you'd typically wear at a mainstream store like Banana Republic. Vanity sizing does not exist in bridal. A standard bridal gown will start at a size 4. Therefore, most often you will size one to two sizes larger than your standard street size.

What are sample gowns?

A sample wedding dress is a gown that has been tried on by brides but never actually altered or purchased in our showroom. At Ladies of Lineage we pride ourselves on the service we provide our brides. During fittings, brides are helped into each gown by a personal stylist to help minimize wear and tear and encourage the kindest care of our samples. Due to the size of our stores, we rotate inventory frequently, so lucky you, many of our samples are no more than 6 months to a year old. Due to this, each gown has been lightly handled and only tried on a handful of times, therefore kept in a “like new” condition.

Do you have photos of the actual dresses?

The beauty of our Virtual Bridal Market is that we are available to give you real time photos and videos of our designs. Even better, we will put them on a mannequin sized to your measurements to show you a true fit. We are happy to schedule your virtual consultation and show you the sample gowns you’re interested in!

What is your shipping policy? Are gowns insured when they ship?

Shipments are insured up to $1000. Should you wish for additional coverage, please view the shipping options upon checkout or ask a consultant.

Do I need to clean a used dress or is it already professionally cleaned?

Most all of our dresses are in “like new” condition upon purchase. If they're in need of some TLC, the pricing and description reflects that. We are also happy to provide a list of trusted cleaners if you are local to the area.

Can I try the gown on before I purchase it?

We are so excited to offer our Pop-Up Sample Shop, by appointment. We will be there to walk you through each and every step of the gown buying process. We will be overly thorough in answering any and all of your questions, to make sure you feel excited and confident in saying yes to the dress.

How does buying accessories work?

We offer a wide selection of wedding accessories and fine jewelry for our brides. Items are handpicked from designers in partnership with Ladies of Lineage. Similar to our gown buying agreement, all jewelry & accessory purchases are final sale.
