We’re glad you asked! Our goal at Ladies of Lineage is to ensure you have the best wedding dress shopping experience within our showroom walls. During your 90 minute appointment, you will be paired with a seasoned bridal stylist, who will work closely with you to create your dream wedding look and help you in and out of gowns. Rather than trying on 10 dresses in your allotted appointment time, your stylist will pull around 5-7 gowns based on your direction and feedback. Arguably one of the best parts of your appointment will be letting your stylist pull a “curveball” – we’re known for them!
To ensure the best experience for you and your guests, appointments are preferred. This allows our bridal stylists to focus solely on your dress shopping journey, without outside interruptions. Occasionally, we are able to accommodate walk-ins, but appointments are encouraged.
We do not charge for appointments. However, to book an appointment, we require a card on file, which is only charged in the event of:
- A “no-show” the day of your appointment
- A failure to cancel or reschedule your appointment within 48 hours of your given appointment date and time
If you cancel 48 hours before your appointment time, there is no cancellation fee.
Yes! We offer hour-long accessory appointments, where our stylists will help you tie together your wedding day look with off-the-rack accessories ranging from veils, belts, and a range of jewelry. We are able to accommodate accessory appointments for brides who did not purchase their gowns at Ladies of Lineage as well.
The majority of our gowns range from $750 - $3500. Keep in mind, our gowns are discounted from the original retail price, so props to you, savvy shopper!
From pulling our trains off the floor, to santizing our gowns, we take great pride in our inventory! Most of our gowns are in like-new condition, and have only been tried on a handful of times. Our off-the-rack gowns have not been worn down the aisle by another bride, but have likely been tried on a time or two by a bride in search of her dream dress. Some of our samples may need a little extra love, such as a loose button or broken zipper, but we're confident that a skilled seamstress can fix these small imperfections.
Not at all! It is our goal to redefine the bridal gown shopping experience, which equally includes our off-the-rack showroom. When you walk into our boutiques, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff, welcoming decor and the dreamiest dresses all in a row. You will receive a personal bridal stylist for your appointment, whose sole focus is to help you find your dream gown. Ladies of Lineage Off-the-Rack was created for the bride who wants a designer dress without breaking the bank. We didn't cut corners on the experience, because each one of our Lineage brides deserve the best!
As our gowns are off-the-rack only, we do encourage brides to “say yes” once they know they’ve found the one, since we do not allow holds on specific gowns. You are always welcome to schedule an hour-long second appointment to try on your favorite gown again.
We always say “the fit magic happens in alterations.” It’s true - alterations are an INCREDIBLE thing! If a gown is too large on you, you can typically alter it down 2-3 sizes without jeopardizing the style and integrity of the dress. All of our stylists are highly trained in understanding what can be altered and how much it can be taken in.
Please keep in mind that whether you order a brand new dress from a traditional boutique or fall head over heels for a designer sample gown at Ladies of Lineage Off-the-Rack, you will need alterations. At minimum, your gown will need a hem and a bustle, but your bridal stylist will be a wonderful resource for recommending any additional fit suggestions. We have a list of recommended seamstresses in the local area and are also happy to assist you in finding an experienced seamstress beyond the Carolinas.
Alterations are not included in the price of the gown. There are many variables that play into the cost of your bridal gown alterations, but on average, you can expect anywhere from $300-$800.
To ensure the focus of each appointment remains on our brides, we do our best to eliminate any unnecessary distractions. For this reason, we do not allow children (including infants) under the age of 12.
We allow a maximum of 3 guests with each bride at their appointment.
The best thing a bride can bring to her wedding dress shopping appointment is an open mind! Aside from that, we recommend wearing nude undergarments. Shoes are not necessary, since you will be standing on one of our 6” pedestals. We ask that brides refrain from wearing any self-tanner products before trying on our sample gowns.
We have a vast range of sample sizes in our off-the-rack showroom. While bridal sizing differs from street sizing, most of our bridal samples will be between a bridal size 10-14 (street sizes 4-8). We also offer plus size gowns, starting at a bridal size 18, going up to size 24.
Since you will be taking your gown home with you the day of the purchase, we do require all orders to be paid in full. We cannot accept personal check.
